This particular clinic will be jointly given by Kirsten Nelsen and Deb Romero.

Deb Romero, Alexander Technique Instructor, will work hands on with riders to develop more body awareness and better use on the ground.

Kirsten Nelsen, Training for Optimal Balance, will review how the rider’s seat, legs and reins relate to various areas of the horse’s body and how we influence the movement of the horse with our bodies. Each rider will have a chance to get on a horse and work with Kirsten to integrate the lessons from Deb and understand the forces being felt by a rider.

Lecture portions precede each segment of the hands-on and riding work. The day is split into three main themes:
Riders seat – Horse’s spine, back and pelvis
Riders legs – Horse’s hindquarters
Riders reins – Horse’s forehand, neck and head
